
Publishing dissertations or “Habilitationsschriften”
You publish your dissertation or habilitation thesis through the Charité Open Access Repository, which is a part of the institutional repository at the FU Berlin (Refubium).

Legal requirements
For doctoral theses, the Medical Library has regulated on the basis of paragraph 12 of the doctoral regulations from 01.11.2017, that doctoral candidates at the Charité are required to publish an electronic version of their work on the Charité Open Access Repository.
For “Habilitations”, see § 2 (5) sentence 1 of the Habilitation Regulations dated 01.12.2014, in conjunction with Section 1.5 (compulsory publication) of the habilitation procedure. Habilitation candidates at the Charité are required to publish an electronic version of their work through the Charité Open Access Repository.
Subsequently, a permanent archiving also takes place on the servers of the German National Library (Deutsche Nationalbibliothek inFrankfurt am Main andLeipzig) and the German Central Library for Medicine (ZB Med inCologne).
Furthermore, one print copy of the dissertation or habilitation thesis is to be provided to the Medical Library free of charge.
